Spicy Cilantro Jalapeño Margaritas
Enjoy this tasty jalapeño cilantro margarita recipe to help you celebrate Cinco de Mayo right!
Makes 4 cocktails
- 8 ounces silver tequila
- 1/2 small jalapeño, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- Coarse salt
- 5 1/2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 1/2 ounces orange liqueur
- 1 tablespoon agave nectar
- Sprig of fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Jalapeño slices, for garnish
In a pint jar with a lid, mix together the tequila, jalapeño slices and cilantro. Set aside at room temp for 1 to 2 hours to infuse the tequila. Strain and discard the jalapeño
and cilantro. Refrigerate the infused tequila until ready to use.
Place the salt on a small plate. Run a wedge of lime around the top of the glasses. Dip the top of each glass into the salt. Fill the glasses with ice cubes; set aside.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the infused tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur and agave nectar. Shake vigorously for at least a minute to thoroughly chill the drink.
Strain into the prepared glasses. Garnish each glass with a sprig of cilantro and jalapeño slices.
